Joanne Elizabeth Gordon

Joanne Elizabeth Gordon, a lifelong resident of Youngstown, Ohio, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2025 peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family.

Born in May 1943, Joanne worked 30 years in Housekeeping at North Side Hospital, where her kindness and dedication touched many. A devout Christian, she offered unconditional love to everyone she met. Joanne was wildly funny, rebellious in the best way, and fiercely free-spirited. She lived life on her own terms, with a sharp wit and a mischievous sparkle in her eye. She found joy in gardening, baking, crocheting, and her absolute love for her dogs. Christmas was her favorite holiday, a season she made magical with warmth, a little chaos, and a bunch more decorations that Grandpa didn’t know she bought at the store that day. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Gordon (September 2016); and her daughter, Cassandra Bradway (May 2024).

She is survived by her children, Paul, Laura, Jerry, and Harold, as well as 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry on her legacy of love, laughter, and fearless spirit. In honor of Joanne’s love for animals, she asks that instead of services, you donate to your local animal charity in her memory. 

Joanne will be deeply missed, but her wild, loving heart will live on in the memories of those lucky enough to have known her.
